6 Production Lines → 2 Fully Automatic Lines

Our customer was producing multiple products across six different production lines. Depending on the product and package configuration, each line required 10 to 24 people to operate. The variety of products and packaging formats also made flexibility and changeover time important considerations.

CAM consolidated six production lines into two fully automatic manufacturing lines designed for flexibility. The systems could accommodate multiple SKUs and packaging configurations, with equipment that could be changed over from one application to another.

The new automated lines reduced the labour required per line from 10–24 people to 2–6 people, depending on the production configuration.

With changeovers taking approximately 30 minutes, the same lines could efficiently move between different products and packaging formats—including bagging and carton applications.

The employees no longer required on the production lines could be redeployed to other areas of the facility, increasing the company’s available labour capacity for additional SKUs and products.
