The Challenge
Our Customer is a contract packager handling a wide variety of candies sourced from around the world. Originally, products were weighed and packaged manually using a strong labour force—but the process was time-consuming and limited their ability to scale as the business grew.
What CAM Did
Over 13 years, CAM worked with our customer as their production needs evolved—from two manual packaging lines to 12 automated lines in a range of sizes and configurations.
For short runs and frequent changeovers, our customer uses CAM linear scales and bagging equipment. For higher-volume production, CAM’s fully automatic systems can run up to 50 bags per minute in both stand-up pouches and pillow packs.
The Result
The customer has grown from producing under 1 million bags per year to more than 40 million bags per year, with production across its facility supported by CAM equipment.
The evolution from two manual lines to 12 automated lines has given them the flexibility to handle everything from short runs and quick changeovers to high-volume production as their business continues to grow.
